Dangerous Driving

Hang a Tear, Prevent a Tear (HATPAT) is dedicated to preventing dangerous driving by teens and the heartache it can cause.

Dangerous driving can take many forms, but HATPAT is focused on three types of dangerous driving:

  • Distracted

  • Drugged

  • Drunk

Dangerous driving can result in death or injury of the driver, passengers, and other innocent victims of the dangerous driver.

Dangerous driving can result in tremendous sorrow to the families and friends of the dead and of the injured.

How Hang a Tear, Prevent a Tear can help you avoid
dangerous driving

HATPAT’s goal is to:

  1. Educate teens about the hazards of dangerous driving and the tears of sadness that can result from their actions behind the wheel

  2. Motivate teens to drive responsibly by:

  • requesting that they pledge to do so and

  • providing a tear as a constant reminder of that pledge and the potential sorrow that can result from dangerous driving

Take the pledge:

Hang a tear to remind you of the tears you will prevent by driving responsibly.

Prevent a tear from being shed by someone you love or an innocent victim of your actions.
